Outlook 2007 automatically inserts 2 returns in my signature

Since moving to Office 2007, my signatures in Outlook all have had 2 returns
placed in them prior to the start of the message. I have deleted and
recreated my signatures but nothing is fixing this issue. Any suggestions?
Otherwise, every time I insert a signature, I have to backspace twice to move
it up.
