Outlook 2007 - Backward "P" char showing when creating email.

David from Jax

Ok, I have looked everywhere (!) and have also tried shortcut SHFT+CNTL+* to
trun off the hidden editing characters, and everything is gone but the
backward "P" symbol, that appears every time I press the Enter Key/Paragraph
key. No other formatting sysbols show.

How do I get rid of this?!!

Thx!

When composing a message click the Office Logo in the left top and choose
Editor Options.
In the Display section disable the option to show paragraph marks.

Yes it is there. If I press the icon ("P" backward) it will cause a small
"o" to show immediately to the left of where the cursor is positioned. If I
press the icon again, then the small "o" disappears, but the "P" backward is
still there!

Hello Robert,

Actually I do not see your reply at all...other than your question "...did I
read your reply as well". Could you try again? Thanks

Weird, are you using the web interface?

Anyway, here is a repeat;
When composing a message click the Office Logo in the left top and choose
Editor Options.
In the Display section disable the option to show paragraph marks.

Perfect!!! I even un-checked some other unwanted check-boxes. Many thanks,
cause the backward "P"'s were driving me crazy!

Are you using Outlook 2007? If not, you won't see the Office logo on an open
message. The ribbon, with the Office logo in the upper left corner of the
message window was introduced in Office 2007.
