Outlook 2007 BCM Databases

After finally getting BCM to play nicely with Outlook, I'm running into a
problem trying to restore BCM databases. I run 4 Profiles within Outlook. In
Outlook 2003 each profile was linked to a profile-specifc BCM database.
However if I restore one of the 2003 databases to a 2007 profile, the
database information is resident across all 4 profiles. I get the message
that BCM is converting file 2.xxxxx to 3.xxxxx and the information is fine. I
simply can't figure out how to create profile-specific databases using 2003
data.

I don't understand what you find has changed between 2003 to 2007.

There is a single BCM database per Outlook profile. You can see what
database the each profile is linked to by examining the profiles in
the Control Panel mail applet.

I can have profile1 using database1, and profile2 using database2.
That appears to work the same with 2003 and 2007.

Let me clarify. I was just wondering if there were any differences between
the '03 & '07 versions of the BCM databases, not that there actually was.

I fully understand in checking Control Panel/Mail to check data file
attributes.

My problem is that once I restore a database, it not only restores to the
current profile but across all profiles!

For example, I select BCM/Database Tools/Manage Database. After selecting
the Backup/Restore tab, I then select Browse that takes me to my BCM backup
files for each profile. I then select the .sbb file for the profile I'm in
and BCM performs the restoration process for that profile. Everything is now
supposedly hunky-dory. It is until I switch profiles and find the 'Database
A' I restored in 'Profile A' now also happily resides in 'Profile B'! The
link between a specific profile and its database are not being retained.
Outlook is linking a database across profiles instead of properly linking
them.

Then all the the profiles are pointing to the same database, no?

Try creating a new profile with a new database. Verify that its
profile points to the new database, and an old profile points to the
old database, by checking the database names in Control Panel/Mail.
Now open an old profile with the old database, and restore the backup
again. Check the new profile in Control Panel/Mail. Did the database
name in the new profile change?
