Outlook 2007 Beta 2 - Configuration Bug?

Hi, I'm running Windows XP Pro, SP2, latest patches, Configured as a work
group pc. The exchange server is Exchange 2000 - latest patches for it, and
member of the users domain.

I've configured Outlook 2007, selecting manual configuration and always
prompt for password. Since the machine is not a member of the domain the
user has to authenticate to it to get to their mailbox. I've also set it not
to cache the mailbox.

Outlook logs in correctly after displaying the login box, and pulls up the
mail, calendar etc. Even opening emails to read works fine. The status
message indicates outlook is connected. However, when i click new (email) -
the system brings up a dialog box saying you must be connected to the
exchange server for this function to work. This is the bug.

After getting this message, i click ok, and verify by i'm still connected by
opening a few other messages to read. However, new compose's do not work.

Thanks!
