Outlook 2007 Beta: Color Scheme

V

Vince W.

I am attempting to change the colors that appear to be defaults for selected
items (Tools|Options|Format|Editor Options|Color Scheme). The selected items
appears to default to a gray background with black text. I tried both color
schemes and they appear the same. I attempted to change it in the Display
settings (i.e., selected items) but it doesn't change.

Might this occur because I am using XP Pro? Or is it simply not modifiable
presently?

Thanks

Vince

What do you mean by:
"The selected items appears to default to a grey background with black
text." ?
The Windows Vista theme certainly has some grey but with white text. Both
themes should work on XP but without the Vista enhancements.

I use folder list in outlook with auto preview. When I click on a message to
highlight it the background color is a darker gray with black text.

The themes supplied with the beta both seem to work fine, I would like to
change from the gray / black to something else. Previously this was
controlled in control panel in the display area by altering "selected items."
When I attempted to change the colors, it didn't work, hence, my question.

Thanks for your time.

I second this question: Is there any way to modify the color scheme of
Outlook 2007 beta 2 other than just choosing between them?

I really don't like either one, so I'd like to use my own colors.

If there is no way to do this now but there will be when the final
version is released, please let us know that this is the case.

There is no way to modify the color scheme besides choosing between
those two. Also, there will be no way to modify the color scheme in the
final version.
I think the only modification you can achieve is switching it to a
higher contrast mode (used for accessible users) by picking something in
Windows Control Panel, Display. I doubt though that that would be useful
to you.

All I can say is....WOW...

Why on EARTH would the developers do this?

Especially the Microsoft team of developers, since they've already
designed the entire operating system (including a control panel to
modify the display of every element)...
