Outlook 2007 Beta Freezing

M

Myutmost

I installed Outlook 2007 beta 2 on top of Office XP about a week ago.
Everything was ok for the first few days but 3 days ago everything started to
freeze up. It takes about 1-4 minutes for it to "come back".

Any help or direction?

Make sure you don't have any add-ins installed.
Did you recreate your mail profile after the upgrade?

For most else; it's BETA! ;-)

Roady MVP:

Perhaps this may be related?
I've been working with OL 2007 for about a week also.
Every time I click on an email message to "open" it, outlook
freezes/crashes, asks me whether I wish to send a report of the error to
msft, then closes and reopens again.

This is a consistent, recurring challenge.

I have one add-in: Adobe Acrobat -- or rather "Attach as Adobe Acrobat".

I have the ADOBE "in here," I suppose, because I use it with my work in
WORD, EXCEL etc.

Would this be the culprit?

Thank you.

Yep. Remove the Adobe Acrobat Pro plugin. It is 100% the culprit.

Yikes!!!
I believe that works!!
I found another posting which describes in greater detail how to delete the
Adobe Add-IN. Here it is:

I figured it out. I just had to remove an add-on file (PDFMOutlook.dll)
From the toolbar in Outlook go to:
Tools - Macros - Security – Add-Ins
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\PDFMaker\Mail\Outlook\PDFMOutlook.dll
I removed the PDFMOutlook.dll and saved it in a newly created folder on my
desktop just in case I need the file later.

I am surprised you found only one posting. There should be hundreds...
BTW, the best way to remove the add-in is via Control Panel, Add/Remove
Programs and change Adobe Acrobat Pro 6/7. Then remove the Outlook and
Office (if you are only using 2007) plugins.
