Outlook 2007 calendar, can I turn off the automatic reccurance

Whenever I copy an appointment (I right mouse drag appointments to new dates
to make a copy), Outlook 2007 sometimes converts my appointments to being
recurrence. I do not want this to happen - can it be stopped. Note: this
never happened in previous versions of Outlook.
