Outlook 2007 - can I block *recipients*?

Here's a strange question: I know how to block senders in Outlook, but is
there some way I can block recipients?

And here's why: a company I often work for forwards emails to my private
email address. This is OK, but sometimes when I receive such an email I
absent-mindedly reply to it from my private email address, whereas what I
should really do is to connect by VPN to the company and reply from there.

So, is there some way within Outlook I can get it to say "you can't send to
this user?"; or, preferably, "you can't send to this domain"?

My private email is a Hotmail address, BTW, and I use Outlook connector.

You could direct these incoming mails to other folders or you could use the
Automatic Formatting feature to highlight these messages with a different
color so you'll have a visual reminder.

I can get the colouring working for individual senders, but I can't get it
to work for all messages from a given domain. Any suggestions?

You can do this via a small workaround with rules but since you're using a
Hotmail account it will not work rules are not supported for Outlook
Connector accounts.

Otherwise you could have configured the rule to assign a specific category
to the message when the recipient's address contained @domain.com. Then you
could set your Automatic Formatting settings to color all the messages which
belonged to that specific category.

To get it to work for Outlook Connector accounts, you'll have to run the
rule manually first.

So back to your original question; you can do it with some VBA which checks
for the recipient's address and then alert you with a message box.
