Uninstalled prior Outlook version (2000) prior to installing Office 2007 Pro
along with Outlook 2007 under Win Xp x64 Edition. Initially Outlook 2007
retrieved email, but the second time the send/receive progress window showed
the "receive" tasks just sitting there. It could not send because send takes
place after receive, and receive never finishes. Closed and reopened Outlook;
said it needed to start in "safe" mode; could not start in "safe" mode, then
wanted to repair the installation. After that, it behaved like a new
installation, re-retrieving about 100 emails without difficulty. But 3
minutes later, when it tried to retrieve again, same thing happened, the
"receive" tasks just sat there. Finally uninstalled Outlook 2007 and
reinstalled Outlook 2000, and it has no problem sending and receiving.
Anything that can be done about this?
