Outlook 2007 can't create a new message

Just started using Outlook 2007 for the first time. Nightmare!

Went through all the setup for my email account but can't use the option
Create New message at all -- it is blocked. Tried using on line support as a
new Office 2007 user. Microsoft denied that my product ID was valid -- yet
that is the one they supplied and is shown in the software. Then tried
creating a Microsoft User Passport ID to ask questions and the system denied
my MSN email address -- one used for ten years.

So . . . unable to use Outlook 2007 at all. Nice one MSFT!

Anyone know what the problem is?

Can you create a new Word document, Excel sheet or PowerPoint presentation?
If not, it is very likely that you haven't activated your copy of Office
yet.
