In Outlook 2007, if I take the system offline (say on an airplane), I can
read and delete messages in my Inbox and in all the folders I've asked
Outlook to make available for me Offline (all via IMAP). However, I can't
move messages between folders. It tells me I need to be online to do this:
"Cannot move the items. The connection to the server is unavailable. Outlook
must be online or connected to complete this action."
Am I missing something, or is this a fundamental limitation of Outlook 2007?
It seems absurd - it could easily replicate/sync any folder changes just as
easily as it can update Read/Unread status and whether or not I've deleted a
message when I next reconnect to the server. Effectively, I can't do e-mail
work when I'm away from the office b/c I can't process my Inbox (I need to
delete or file every message).
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Colin
