I am not able to receive emails through my pop3 account, I can only send. I
keep getting the enter your password pop up window. Please help, thank you.
Have you tried using the same login credentials recorded or used in Outlook
when using the webmail interface to your e-mail account? Using the webmail
client will let you know if the login credentials are correct and haven't
been changed.
If the login credentials you enter in Outlook are the same ones that work
when using the webmail client, the problem might be with a corrupted cache
in the registry that stores the login credentials (assuming you actually
configured the e-mail accounts defined within Outlook to remember the login
credentials). How the login credentials are cached in the registry depends
on which version of Windows that you use but never mentioned. Rather than
me doing the search for you, you can go to Microsoft's huge support
knowledgebase and do the search yourself.
Go to
http://support.microsoft.com, select the Advanced search mode, select
your product (Outlook 2007), and enter the search criteria, like "remember
password". Adding the Windows version would help. You might also add
"protected storage". While pre-Vista versions of Windows use that method
and Vista/7 use DPAPI, several of the articles on how to fix the password
problem will discuss methods used on pre-Vista and post-XP versions of
Windows.
