Hello, I just got a new Gateway GT5411 factory loaded with Windows Vista Home
Premium, which comes with an intro Office Suite that doesn't include Outlook
2007, so I went an bought it and installed it on this machine. Upgraded the
RAM to 2Gigs and figured I was into paradise.
Not so.
Whenever Outlook 2007 checks email accounts (okay, so I have 11 - all
business) it takes an inordinate amount of time and I can't type anything
into any Office program or even notepad without a long delay before the
characters appear. Sometimes it won't display characters until it finishes
sending and receiving.
I increased the page file size.
I ran diagnostics. All green.
It acts like not enough RAM, but at 2 gigs and with everything, even my
antivirus, turned off, it still acts like I'm on a half gig of RAM with Vista
or something and I know better than that! LOL
I even ran a RAM meter and while it's doing this, RAM isn't pegged. Only
about 40%.
Thus the plot thickens and I am gratefully and hopefully trolling for help.
Thanks,
Marvin
