outlook 2007, clicking on an link general failure message?

Stuart

No problem until recently, no other changes to my PC, however when trying to
access a link via an email, I get a general failure message with the url I am
trying to access. This is really annoying. Has anybody any ideas?

I have EXACTLY the same problem! And it is most annoying...especially the
alarm sound that it makes.

Ms. Poremsky's suggestions were of no help at all; I use Foxfire and I
couldn't figure out how to reset its internet settings.

Suggestions from anyone else for Stuart and me?

Thanks.

The times I've seen this happen were when there are different browsers
installed also. Check and make sure that IE7 is set as your default browser.

I was having the same problem, using Firefox as my default browser. Solution:
Open Firefox browser before clicking links in Outlook.

Steve, I also use Firefox as my default browser, and was having the same
problem. Solution: Open Firefox browser before clicking links in Outlook.

Melanie, many of us prefer another browser to IE, and do not wish to set IE
as the default. I was having the same problem, using Firefox as my default
browser. Solution: Open Firefox browser before clicking links in Outlook.
