Hi all,
I archive all of my Sent Items in my usual POP3 PST to a "Sent Items"
folder on GMail's IMAP server. I do this because I am in the process
of migrating from my old mail server to GMail and I want to keep my
Sent Items "in sync" before moving over. I have Outlook keep my
outgoing items in the Outbox folder so that I must explicitly force a
send before the item leaves my mailbox. I do this because I don't
always trust myself in sending messages!
I've created an Outlook rule that moves a copy of all outgoing
messages to the GMail folder using the rule type "Apply this rule
after I send the message". Unfortunately, because the message hasn't
really sent and is instead sitting in the Outbox, the message gets
copied to IMAP in an unread state. It's a bit annoying!
My question is: given the scenario above, how can I automatically mark
the IMAP version of the outgoing item as read or ONLY have that
message copy over after it has really been sent (not just put in my
Outbox)?
Sorry for the long message!
