You prob. have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed. Go into Control Panel,
Add/Remove Programs and change Adobe Acrobat Pro. Remove the Outlook &
Office plugins.

have romoved acrobat reader completely and still the problem persitsts. I
have othe Adobe programs running like photoshop, Illustrator and pagemaker.
Could this be a cause or is there something else?

The reader is not the problem. The problem is Adobe Acrobat Professional
6/7 (the program with which you generate PDFs). There was one more Adobe
program that caused the same issue, but I forgot which one. Best thing
to do is disable all add-ins except the VBA one in Tools, Trust-Center,
Add-Ins.

has all the Add ins disabled but still the problem remains. could this be an
issue of runing the office on2003 server platform?

Actually, does it work in safe mode? (Start, run, "outlook.exe /safe")

This thread hasn't had any updates, but I am having the same problem... To
answer your last two questions, outlook will crash as soon as the client is
notified by the server that there is a new message. And yes, my outlook
client receives the messages just fine when running in safe mode.

Any thoughts or ideas?

(i have completely uninstalled Acrobat CS, to no avail.) (i also have CS
running on another computer, with the same config, and that computer receives
the messages without problem)

In safe mode, disable all add-ins (Tools, Trust-Center, Add-ins). Then
open it normally and verify it works. After that, reactive one add-in at
a time to see which one is the reason for your crash.

I don't seem to be able to "do anything" with the add-ins. I can Apply macro
security settings at the bottom, and then restart outlook and disable for the
session, which I have done. I have disabled all of the add-ins, and still
see the problem.

I have also gone into the registry to see which add-ins are there, and all
are office 12 components.

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

There is a Go button next to a combobox on the bottom of that dialog.
Selecting an add-in category in the combobox and then pressing Go, gets
you where you can do stuff.

Even with all of the add-ins disabled, I am crashing each time a new message
hits the client, unless in safe mode. Any other ideas?

Windows XP SP2

My machine has McAfee Enterprise AntiVirus installed, however, the 3 or 4
services that are related to the software have been disabled since before I
installed any of the software.
