Outlook 2007 Crash

Hi All,
I have used Outlook 2007 Beta 2 for quite some time. All seem fine,
until suddenly I receive message: " Either there is no default mail
client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.
Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.".
After that Outlook appear, but not more than 5 seconds later, error
message window appear: "Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" with
the usual Send Error Report or Don't Send Button along with Debug
button at left. I try to click debug, and when VS2005 launched:
"Unhandled exception at 0x38d77023 in OUTLOOK.EXE: 0xC0000005: Access
violation reading location 0x00000000." Now, my Outlook 2007 is
inaccessible anymore, everytime open, same error occured. Any idea how
to solve this?

You get this when doing what? Any steps to reproduce?
What account type do you use?
What is logged to the Event Viewer?
Are you using any add-ins for Outlook? Disable them and try again as most
add-ins haven't been designed yet for Outlook 2007.

Try Office Diagnostics (Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft
Office Tools). That might help with your problem (my bet is that the MS
updates from Tuesday caused the issue due to some remnants of Outlook
2003 on your machine).

I just got back into the office after a few days of travel. I encountered
the same exact message as the original poster.

The error message pops up right away when Outlook is opened. I also lost my
message preview window at the bottom of the screen. When I try to call it up
- I get another error message and Outlook crashes.

I also have remnants of Outlook 2003 installed on this machine - so it seems
that the update must be the cause.

Hi All,
I try to repair using Add/Remove Programs, change, and then choose
Repair.
After repairing, my outlook open smoothly again.

I have the same problem (after downloading Windows updates) and office
diagnostics does appear to have solved the problem (although it didn't say
that it had in the results).

Thanks to everyone who has made suggestions about this.

I have had exactly the same problems - including the Reading Pane issue - and
did the Repair, which also seems to have solved all problems. Yeah.
