I have had this issue with a small client's LAN now twice on 2
computers.
When an outgoing email gets stuck in the Outbox in Outlook, a send/
receive takes down the whole network. After rebooting the router and
switches, the network is fine for web browsing, etc. But when Outlook
is opened and a send/receive is attempted, they lose all connectivity
again.
I have seen this problem on 2 separate machines in the same network,
so I don't think it is the NIC. On the last PC we deleted the email
from the outbox, then all was fine again.
It almost seems like the send/receive is doing a DOS attack on the
router.
This is a very small network, maybe 4 computers hooked to a switch,
which is connected to a router with a built in firewall.
Think it is the hardware (switch or router) that needs to be replaced?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
