is it possible to create a new task or appointment from inside a 2007 Contact
form. In 2003 it was easy - just hitting the 'Actions' button on top toolbar.
I can't believe that Microsoft would simply remove this excellent
functionality in the name of progress!
Thanks

Any reason the "Meeting" button and "Assign Task" button on the Ribbon don't
fit your needs? Those are both right in front of you.

I want to create a Task in connection with a Contact, directly from the
Contact form so that the Task is automatically linked to the Contact record
the same way it was in Outlook 2003. I don't want to delegate or assign a
task to the contact. is there anything I am missing here? Thanks
Richard

Just a clearer description of what you want to do that you can't.

Thanks Russ, what I am trying to achieve is this: I have a Contact form for a
prospect. I want to create a Task to call this guy in 3 weeks time. With
Outlook 2003 I would hit the 'Actions' Tab on the Contact form and select
'New Task for Contact' and date the task. The Task would be automatically
linked back to the Contact Form, so when I opened the Task form I could just
hit the Contact Link on bottom left to see the full Contact record.

I do not want to assign the task to the contact, just raise a task to deal
with the contact again. Thanks for your help

So you want to create a task for yourself and link that task to this
Contact, right? You would use the Contacts linking field for that. You add
the Contacts linking field to your Contacts form here:
Tools > Options > Preferences > Contact Options > and tick "Show Contact
Linking on All Forms"
