Outlook 2007 Deleted Item Folder Full - Unable to Empty Folder

This has happened three times since Installing Office 2007 on my Vista
Ultimate Laptop and Windows Home Premium desktop computers. My wife had RSS
feeds on and forgot to turn them off before they filled her Inbox. I turned
off the feeds and them did a mass delete of the RSS messages. Once the RSS
messages were placed in the Deleted Items folder and reached 100 messages,
she has been unable to empty the Deleted Items folder or delete any other
messages from the Inbox.

We have run the Office Diagnostic and no errors are found. Any suggesttions
besides deleting the profile and recreating it?

Just for troubleshooting, are you able to permanently delete some items
directly from the Deleted Items folder?
