Outlook 2007 deleting inbox messages automatically

Why do my new messages in my inbox get deleted upon signing out. I don't
mark them for deletion, I just read them. When I login the next time all the
inbox messages are gone.

Check to ensure that you are not using a view of the inbox that only shows
unread messages.
