Outlook 2007 disappeared and won't reinstall

I installed Vista and Office Enterprise 2007. After using Outlook 2007
without significant issues it suddenly seems to have disappeared. No trace of
it remains on the drive our in 'Programs and Features'. When I try to
reinstall from the DVD it shows Outlook as not available.

Does Start-> Default Programs indicate it is still installed?
Did you do a System Restore?
If you are using a 64-bit version of Windows check the "Program Files (x86)"
folder;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12

I can't see any evidence of Outlook within default programs or anywhere else.
It seems to have totally vanished along with all references to it. I am
running 32 bit Vista. Outlook is not visible in the Office12 folder. I have
not tried a restore, hoping that there is a better solution, like determining
why the DVD will not allow an Outlook reinstall.

Appearantly something is still installed or registered. Uninstall any
version of Office through Control Panel-> Uninstall a Program

If you still can't install Outlook after that use the Windows Installer
CleanUp Utility to check for remnands of the application which prevents a
reinstall;
