Outlook 2007 DOES NOT automatically add calandar items as tentative

I have a wierd problem in that Outlook 2007 does not show a new
appointment that is in my intray as a tentative appoint in the
calendar. So what happens is someone book another meeitng thinking my
time is available. I cannot find anything in Options/Calndar on how
to process meeting requests.
