Outlook 2007 does not display scrolling marquees properly in HTML.

When I insert symbols and scrolling marquees in Outlook 2007 messages; Plain
Text or HTML they do not display properly once sent! Is I send such a
message to myself from my web-mail I can receive symbols OK and they display
as intended but the scrolling marquees are a problem yet they work (after a
fashion) in IE7 browser. Anybody know anything about this problem?

And, here's me thinking that I was buying software that was forwards looking
and backwards compatible! Silly me!

But, what about symbols? I have created a signature using symbols
(Windings) which is MS resident fonts and the signature displays fine in the
e-mail message until you send it then it screws up somewhere along the line
and does not display properly when you receive it (if sent in an e-mail
message from Outlook 2007 via Vista) but if I forward an old message to my
Vista PC from another PC using Outlook in Office XP (via W2K) the symbols
display OK. Clearly something wrong with Outlook that it cannot display
system symbols! Is this typical?

Several non-mail-essential HTML and CSS elements are not supported an have
been dropped to offer more document features than Internet features since
mail is treated more as a document than a webpage. That's pretty forward
looking to me ;-)

Symbols should display fine as long as the font is also installed on the
machine of the recipient. Many web based mail clients apply some sort of
font substitute when displaying email messages. In some cases they convert
it to Plain Text completely. "Symbols" are not symbols as such; it's just a
font like any other.

Forward looking or otherwise, if it is not supported, then that is the end of
the matter. I think it a retrograde step in an "animated" age not to support
this. What is at issue, however, and maybe I did not make it clear, is that
my signature which contains symbols is not displayed properly on my PC (as
well as others) from which it was sent but it did display correctly when the
message was composed in Outlook 2007! It appears that it is in the sending
that there is a problem! I have therefore cut and pasted the signature into
my web mail direct, and then sent it to myself and it displays OK. If I send
it to myself direct from Outlook it screws up on the way. Moreover, it is
screwed up on my web mail account when I display it there: so I can only
conclude that the problem is in the "sending" from Outlook 2007, as sending
from XP and WebMail they are displayed OK in 2007! Outlook XP (2000 or 2002
I think) handles the signature and scrolling marquee OK, and webmail displays
them OK. So it must be a problem with 2007 "sending"!
