Outlook 2007 does not shut down properly

Hi,

I have a problem with Outlook 2007 shutting down. Even after I have closed
the program and all trace of it has disappeared from my desktop, when I open
the task manager, the Outlook.exe process is still running.

The process continues to run indefinitely until it is manually terminated.

Any ideas how to make it shut down properly?
