Outlook 2007 doesnt display backgroup images/icons

Chris

Hi,

I'm using Outlook 2007 with SP1. A specific user opens their Outlook and the
images or icons (for example on Outlook Today the clock image at the top) is
showing a red 'x' as it cannot show the image. I have logged onto another PC
and it does the same. No other user has this issue.

I've checked properties in Active Directory for this user and there are a
few differences in the security permissions (yet this user has administrator
access to the network!). Also, There is no Certificate issued to this user
from Exchange.

Can you confirm if any of the above would be the reason images wouldn't
display, and if so how to correct them. If not, what could be the issue
(without having to recreate the user!)

Thanks

Chris

You're logging on with the same user to another PC? If you have roaming
profile configured, you'd be travelling with your settings and possibly also
bring over problems which are restricted to that user.

The issues you mentioned are very unlikely to cause this.
Does it work correctly in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

Hi,

Thanks for the email. No roaming profiles are configured so it wont be that
I'm afraid.
I've tried the outlook in safe mode too but it's still displaying a'x'
instead of where the outlook background images should be on Outlook today.
It's very odd.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Chris

This is often caused by anti-malware suites that do script scanning and/or
integrate with Outlook/Office/Internet Explorer. I'd start with disabling
that and see if it work now.
