This is a strange one but since it is still happening on this new build and
was also happening on my previous machine (ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe, Intel P4
3.2ghz, 6800GT 256MB Dual-DVI AGP8x) I'm thinking it is likely graphics
driver related.
If I leave Outlook 2007 running for a few days (this PC is on 24/7) then
when I try and restore the application it either distorts the task bar (and
doesn't restore) or appears on the screen all scrambled. When this happens I
have to restart Outlook 2007 and all is well again for a few days. I can take
a screen shot which is why I think this might be graphics related. I've tried
a search but not found anyone else experiencing this issue. I've seen this
through the beta releases of Outlook 2007 and now in the final (using a trial
licence).
This happens under Vista Ultimate RTM and I've not seen it under Windows XP
(SP2) although to be honest I didn't spend much time in XP since Vista RC1
became available and now I have my RTM licence XP has been upgraded.
New system specifications are:
PSU: XION 600W
MB: ASUS P5B Wi-Fi Deluxe
CPU: Intel E6600 [not overclocked]
RAM: 2 x 1024MB Corsair T2X1024-6400C4 (Settings: 4-4-4-12 & VDIMM: 2.1V)
Graphics: XFX GeForce 7950GT 512MB DDR3 XT Edition Dual DVI
Tuner: Hauppauge Nova-T-500 Dual Tuner
The trial licence I have expires at the end of February and I was planning
on purchasing but if I can't resolve this one then I'll stick with my Office
2003 licence for now.
