Outlook 2007 doesn't understand vCalendar entries any more !?!

I occasionally need to copy/paste calendar entries from another calendar
application into my private Outlook. Until recently - using Outlook
2002/XP - this worked fine.

Since I switched to Outlook 2007 this does not work any more. Instead of
pasting a new appointment I only get a new appointment with no title, no
date, no other field filled except the comment field which contains the
entire (and - as far as I can see: valid!) vCalendar entry.

Can one somehow teach OL2007 to accept and properly interpret such entries?

I just learned that I can paste that calendar entry into an empty text file,
safe it with a .vcs extensions and then simply drag that file into the
calendar which yields a perfectly valid and complete entry. So, obviously,
the vCalendar entry copied from the other calendar application is complete
and valid!

So, why does OL2007 then not accept it directly when pasting it?

Michael

PS.: While being a workaround of last resort I would find that detour via
saving to a file most cumbersome. There has be a more elegant solution to
this!

What happens if you try to drag them over to the calendar folder?

At first I get a No Entry sign. If I hover over Outlook with the mouse key
still pressed for about 5 seconds it changes into a little [+] marker and if
I then release the button I get a new calendar entry that has a subject line
of ".URL" (sic!), no location, the start and end time depend on where I
released the mouse button (i.e. not the original times) and a comment field
that also reads ".URL".

So, in short: useless garbage...
