Outlook 2007 Email is not sending, all notes remain in Outbox?

Since yesterday, all of my sent emails are sitting in my Outbox. I am using
Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista Home Premium. The only change that has
occurred since yesterday is the security updates from Windows were installed:
Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB958439)
Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 (KB951550)
Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB958619)

I have followed all of the recommendations that I have found in this
discussion including:
- rebooting PC
- restarting Outlook in offline and then online
- deleting Hotmail email account and recreating Hotmail email account
- following the recommendations on
http://www.howto-outlook.com/Faq/messagestuckinoutbox.htm
- running the Office Diagnostics tool which found no errors or issues

Any suggestions on what to try next?

I have been experiencing this problem, only on new email messages. Forward
and reply will send but not new emails. This problem is a recent occurance. I
have Outlook 2007 operating on Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Outlook was loaded
12/25/08. One other observation, the number in parenthesis after the folder
name is green for the outbox, blue for all other folders.
