Outlook 2007 Error message: Cannot find the email server

I recently configured (or at least attempted to configure) my Outlook to my
Gmail account. I followed the instructions given in the Settings tab of my
Gmail account for IMAP and SMTP details, but every time I open Outlook I am
unable to view my messages in it or to send messages. I instead get the
following message:

Error (0x800CC0D): Cannot find the email server. Verify the server info in
your account properties.

Why is this happening???

"cannot find" means you didn't enter the correct names for their POP,
IMAP, and/or SMTP mail hosts.

I had the same problem when I changed the default gateway in the LAN
(Local Area Network) side to the default gateway in the WAN (Wide Area
Network) side. When you have a home network (LAN) behind a firewall,
you should have a default gateway defined within your LAN. Let's say
your LAN is 192.168.1.0 (a private network), your default gateway will
usually be 192.168.1.1 (a private IP address). In my case, and as a
test, I changed it to the default gateway of the WAN side,
66.229.216.1, which is a public IP address. Then I got the error
mentioned in this thread when trying to download the emails from mail
server. I also got "Unable to locate www.google.com", or something
like that, in my browser. Once I changed the default gateway back the
original IP address (private IP address, 192.168.1.1), everything came
back to normal. I hope this helps.

I have the same error, but can receive emails, but not send them, please help.
