Outlook 2007 fails to start

My Outlook 2007 fails to always start, sometimes it fails the first time I
attempt to start the program (after power up) and sometimes after I have used
Outlook - shut the program down - and then attempted to reopen the program
later. Sometimes it opens normally and sometimes it opens with a suggestion
of using safe mode because the program failed to shut down correctly - no
error messages. The only cure I have found is to restart MS XP SP3. I have
attempted office diagnostic's and attempted repair using add/remove program
fuction, additionally I have downloaded all current patches. This is an
intermittant problem (the worst type)...

I am having a similar problem. I run Vista Business on my laptop with office
2007 Enterprise (i guess it's the version with an office liscence but i'm
only using it for my own machine). all the other programs work fine only
outlook and groove have problems. I don't really care about groove but I need
outlook! everytime i start it, i get an error message that says: "This
application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found." I have
tried reinstalling office but it doesn't change anything. i even tried going
back to office 2003 but now my outlook 2003 isn't working...comes up with the
same problem!!!!

I like Vista, I like Office 2007, but this outlook problem is really
troubling.
How do i get rid of this issue so i can start using outlook again. (i've
been forced to use Mozilla Thunderbird since outlook isn't working)

Thanks!

Good evening Aliagha, sorry your having problems. I believe my problem,
which still exists, may be different. I do not get an error message (the
program just won't restart after I close it the first time) and I use XP and
not Vista. I have Vista on my laptop and Outlook works OK there... My
problem is between Outlook and XP... Hope you can get your fixed...
Thank you.... Richard
