Outlook 2007 flaws

Wow. Just spent all day trying to do what I thought would be a simple
thing. Using Outlook 2007 and Office 2007 ultimate. Opened a contact,
tried to write a MS Word document (go figure, I thought that this was
supposed to be an intergrated office suite), and then have Outlook record
the journal entry and show it under 'activites' for the contact.

Well guess what!? No option to write a letter from the contact. Only pull
in the information from the Word side of things. Guess it was wrong to
think it could work from both sides.

Next, the journaling. Yes, the journal entry is there, but it has to linked
to the contact MANUALLY for the activity to show under the contact. All of
the $$$ spent and nothing of common sense is working.

I have looked all day even for an add-on that would do this functionality.
No luck. Each version of M$ Office seems to lose good productive
functionality. Guess I may have to look for another overall solution.

funny thing is , I have Sage Act 2008 and it did alot of this for me, but I
didn't like the flakiness or bad support, so I made the mistake of thinking
that going with good old Outlook 2007 would work.

If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE, reply to this post.

Unless you use 'new journal entry for contact' how is outlook supposed to
know which contact the journal entry is for?
