Outlook 2007 hangs on Voicemails

I have an old unified message system that runs on top of Exchange 5.5. All
of the mailboxes are on an Exchange 2003 server. Voicemails are deliveried
to my mailbox. Recently upgraded some computers to Outlook 2007. When we
click on a voicemail and the preview pane is turned on or we just try to open
the message, Outlook hangs for 30-60 seconds.

I have tried disabling and removing the unified messaging add-in and
starting in safte mode, but neither helped. I did not see anything usefull
in logging either.
