Outlook 2007-Hangs when typing any e-mail

Hi all, I have 2 machines - an ASUS laptop (1GB Ram, 80GB HDD and AMD turion
1.8GHz) and a AMD 4600+, (750GB HDD storage, 4GB RAM). I have installed OL
2007 on both machines, laptop and Main computer will do everything Except
allow me to write and send an E-mail. I open the new or return e-mail, start
typing, and it locks up. This is all on an IMAP server, I have 350mb as the
size of my e-mail file on the server. I have looked at many comments and
found nothing to help, I have left the machine for 1/2 an hour, and still
locked up. Any thoughts? Losing patience fast here. Thanks in Advance

I am a recovering Outlook person, now very happy with Thunderbird. My wife is suffering greatly from the same problem you describe, however, and I'd appreciate it if you'd notify me if you find a solution. Thanks!

Huh? Same problem as what?
If you are addressing a specific poster, you need to quote the pertinent portion of
that post.

Why do people feel compelled to say they have the same problem and not
provide additional information?

Because they actually are replying to a post, as evidenced by the References
header. Also, since the poster was using the Egghead Cafe forums to post
through (as they have an NNTP <> Forum transfer engine, he doesn't realize
that what he sees is different than what everyone else in the world sees.
Also, Egghead Cafe, afaik, doesn't quote the thread by default (if it all)
and as such, most people won't actually include the text from the rest of
the thread.

Add in the fact that since they are using eggheadcafe forums, they are more
likely to be forum users rather than newsgroup users, which is a completely
different structure/format/methodology. On the forum, you wouldn't just
see this persons post, you'd see the entire thread.

If you don't like the way they play with newsgroups, go on over there and
let them know. I never got a response when I tried tho....

Should have added:

appears to be the post he was replying to.

What is Egghead Cafe?
Why is it so incompetent?
How can we get rid of it, or at least convince users to abandon it? It sure
makes life in the newsgroups more difficult.

Well, I'm pretty sure there's a url up in the original post in the
signature. Click it.

Because they didn't tweak the settings? I don't know. I don't work there.

Beats the living heck out of me. How can I convince the red states in this
country to vote democrat? Probably the same answer. Who knows. If you
figure it out, go ahead and try.

Since you didn't quote the message to which you think you're responding, no
one knows what you mean.
