Outlook 2007 high memory usage

Outlook 2007 on Windows XP with 512Mb RAM

Virtual memory usage increases until Outlook is restarted or the entire system crashes and restarts (It has gotten as high as 1.7Gb).

When Outlook is closed, it takes up to 10 minutes for the process to actually end (as it slowly gives back it's memory to the system)

When Outlook restarts, it gives a message "Personal folders was not closed properly", and has to check the file. So far, it has always recovered.

Is this normal?

I've installed patches and updates I've seen in other messages on this forum, and things improved somewhat (messages are downloaded more quickly, but still much slower than it used to with Outlook 2003).

I am getting the same thing. I am running Outlook 2007 on Windows XP with 2
gigs of RAM. When I start up Outlook, I get around 1.7 to 1.8 GB of VM. At
first I thought it was a conflict between Outlook and Symantic Endpoint
Protection, but I have uninstalled that completetly, and still getting it.
I've been looking around and see a few people struggling with this, but no
one has a fix yet. Have you fixed it yet?
