Outlook 2007:How to display envelope in system tray(for custom fol

Michal

Hi!

Since Outlook 2000 i have used rules to move messages to folders (based on
from whom it is and which account it was received thru). This has not
affected the envelope that shows in the system tray when new emails has
arrived.

But now when i moved to Outlook 2007, the envelope does not show up. If i
dont process the email thru any rule, it does show up, so it has to do with
the rules. Can someone tell me what i can do to get the envelope in system
tray and still be able to move emails to the correct folder when they
arrive?

Thanks!

They removed the envelope when rules moved messages because of feedback -
lots of it. You can play sounds, show desktop alerts (blue toast), run a
program, or display a message as part of the rule. I don't know if the next
version of outlook might add the envelope icon to Rules actions, but its not
possible in Outlook 2007 and I don’t expect an update to change it.
