I've recently run into an issue with using image maps for HTML Email content
in Outlook 2007. I had a piece of content that had 6 different image map
sections contained in it, and for some reason the 5th image map section was
causing Outlook 2007 to crash. This error did not happen in older versions
of Outlook, nor was it an issue in other mail clients or web mail clients.
I removed this 5th image map, and then put linked the images directly, and
this did not crash Outlook 2007. Also, all other image maps worked.
The image map name was <map name="FPMap5"> - the odd thing is that if I
removed the name (<map name="">), then Outlook would not crash, but then of
course the links would not work either.
I'm curious if anyone else has experienced any similar issue with image
maps, and what they have found to be the best solution.
