I have been experiencing problems with message status when using Outlook 2007
to connect to IMAP folders.
Specifically, new messages delivered to an IMAP folder have their message
status set to read. If you first connect to the account with a web mail
client, you can see the status of new messages are unread but when Outlook
displays the folder, the message status is read. Outlook has no message rules
defined.
In addition, if you have connected to an IMAP folder with Outlook and then
use another client to change the read/unread status of messages in the
folder, Outlook will not change the status of the messages until you do a
Send/Receive. All other IMAP clients that I have used, all you have to do is
refresh the view of the IMAP folder to see the change in status.
Are there resolutions available for these issues or am I about to make a
change in my email client?
