Outlook 2007 Junk e-mail filter not working

Hi,

I have recently installed Outlook 2007 and performed a Micrososft Update and
updated everything with the latest patches. I have set my junk e-mail filter
to:
"Safe lists only: only mail from people or domains on your safe lists.."
Howeever I do not see any e-mails going to the junk e-mail folder...all spam
and legit e-mails go to my inbox. I am a seasoned veteran and cannot
understand why this is not working as it was working great with Outlook 2003.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

I am having the exact same problem as the previous use has decribed. It
started right after I installed Outlook 2007. I too am very proficient with
Windows and Windows products but there seems to be a bug. Has anyone found a

Well, then, I'll ask you the same question as I asked the original poster:

What do you have listed on your Safe Recipients tab?

Junk mail filtering in Outlook 203 had been working fine for me until I
performed a Microsoft update and the following updates were installed. No
level of filtering will work any more, so the question about "What is listed
on your Safe Recipients list?" isn't relevant.

Basically, one of the following patches, which were installed all in the
same session, has caused Outlook 2003 junk mail filtering to stop working:

Office 2007 Update for Office 2007 (KB934391)
Office 2007 Security Update for Office 2007 (KB934062)
Office 2007 Update for Office 2007 (KB934393)
Office 2007 Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB932080)

I am having same problem. I get messages into my inbox from senders that are
not in my safe senders/recipients list.

I have 8 email addresses on my safe list, and have set it to "Safe
Lists Only" in Outlook 2007.
I am still getting everything to Inbox, and only 2-3 mails to Junk
folder (which in all likelyhood happen to be on my rather expansive
blocked senders list).

I am fairly sure this started when I uninstalled Outlook 2003 through
the Outlook 2007 installation, or shortly there after.

This was an escalating issue as I noticed that the "Low" setting
wasn't very effective anymore, so I then switched it to high and
waited about a week seeing more or less the same behaviour.
I also tried the trick with shutting off mail filtering completely,
shutting down Outlook, opening it back up then turning filtering back
on, didn't work.
I then went ahead and set it up to Safe Lists Only to find that
everything save for a few junk mails were still hitting my inbox.
I typically get about 130 junk mail per day (have 3 pop accounts set
up).

I've been updating via Office Update site but have only gotten one
junk mail filter ruleset update since that time.

Is there some way to "re initialize" the junk mail settings? by re
registering an add in or something of that nature from the command
line?

Just as a comparison, I use Outlook 2003 at work and it is working
just fine. The Outlook 2007 install I have at home has my work account
on it set to "leave copy of message on server" and it downloads junk
to inbox, but when I get to work and download those same messages it
correctly puts them in the junk folder (save for 2-3 per day which is
understandable).

My work address is the only address listed in safe recepients. Should
I delete that?

Here's what's in my safe senders lists only (addresses hidden for
obvious reasons):
(e-mail address removed)
(e-mail address removed)

(e-mail address removed)

Also the "also trust email from my contacts" is checked.

Probably.

Mail addressed to an address listed in Safe Recipients will NOT be treated
as spam. The purpose of the Safe Recipients list is to handle any internet
mailing lists you might be on, where the recipient is not your address and
the senders aren't likely to be on your safe list (or, if you have some
super secret email address that you've never published anywhere, I guess
that'd be smart to put there too).

What is the basic Junk Email setting set to? Safe Lists Only?

Safe Lists only -setting is not working for me:

junk email setting --> Safe Lists Only
safe senders --> 20 emails (friends)
safe recipients --> 0 emails (empty list)
blocked senders --> lots of emails

I stille get lot of junk into my inbox.

While this sounds silly, what happens if you toggle it off, ok all the way
out, and then go back in and toggle it back on? How about creating a new
profile and downloading mail with the same settings?

Even a new profile? Have you verified with the Exchange Administrator that
they haven't done anything to try and over-ride the Outlook settings? Do
you see the same settings if you fire up OWA?

because providers email server is not Exchange. I am using IMAP-connection.

Err, didn't you say earlier 'This is an Exchange server account.'?

Has it *ever* worked?

What are your Send/Receive settings for the account, headers only or full
message?
