Outlook 2007 - lost the "News" link

W

Walter Blanchard

I've lost the "news" link on the toolbar. When I go to Customize, Go, the
News link is no longer there. Is there a way to get it back?

Neither Outlook Express nor Outlook show as options in the Control
Panel->Internet Options->Programs. Only Windows Live Mail.

The reference you give is for Outlook 2003. None of the options there work
for Outlook 2007. I haven't tried the zip file for the Registry yet.

The Registry file put Outlook back in Internet Options->Programs, but I
still can't get the News in the Go menu.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2007, but that didn't help.

In the case of Windows Vista you must set Windows Mail as the default news
reader. Outlook itself never was and probably never will be a newsreader.
