Outlook 2007 mail sound problem

I've selected to option to be notified by sound with new mail. I get the
sound with a new message after I open Outlook and "Send and Receive". After
that, if I "Send and Receive" and get new messages, there is no sound.
Anybody else have this problem or know a solution?

It will only play for items delivered to your default Inbox. Where are your
items being received?

The items are being received in my default Inbox; I know the other inboxes
won't get a sound, but my default inbox gets one sound notification and
that's it.
