Outlook 2007 "MARK AS NOT JUNK" stopped moving messages to INBOX

Starting about a week ago, my Outlook 2007 no longer moves messages from the
JUNK folder back to my INBOX when I push the built-in "MARK AS NOT JUNK"
button. This worked previously. The workstation is Windows XP SP3 with
fully patched Outlook 2007 connected to Exchange 2003.

I tried disabling the junk mail features, closing and reopening Outlook, and
then turning the Junk mail features back on, but the button still does not
work. When I press the button, I get the message saying that the message is
going to be moved to the INBOX, but it never does.

If I manually put a message in the JUNK folder and then hit the NOT JUNK
button, the message is properly moved to the INBOX.

What gives?

I'd try a new mail profile.

I have this issue since I installed Microsoft Office 2007. I have my filter
set up safe list only, so I can decide what I move to inbox. However, when I
had Microsoft Office 2003, I was able to decide to "mark as not junk" whether
I click to add email to safe sender or not, and MS Outlook with automatically
move it. Now, if I select to add email to safe sender, MS Outlook will
automatically move it, but not if I unselect to add email to safe sender.
Although, I may want to move the mail to my Inbox, I might not neccesarily
want to save the email as safe sender.

Do I have to select a setting that may not have been selected in the upload
of Microsoft Office 2007, or Does creating a new mail profile the ONLY
solution at this point?

Thank you.

Outlook has never had that ability. You must have had an antispam add-in.

Brian,

I have the same experience BTowers reported in his earlier email. If you
right click on an email in the junk folder you are offered an option to
return it to your in-box with a check mark not to add it to your safe sender
list. If you don't uncheck the the box Outlook 2007 works as expected and
moves the email. If you unchecked the box Outlook 2007 does not move the
email. Either option worked in Outlook 2003.

I hope you can following my description to see if you are experiencing the
same phenomenon. Has anyone determined that creating a new email profile
fixes this problem?

Jim
