Outlook 2007 McAffee VirusScan v80i

Hello,

Twice I have performed a clean installations of windows xp, joined the
domain, loaded MS Outlook 2007, activated it, then loaded McAffee VirusScan
v80i. Shortly afterwards I begin having problems with Outlook 2007 crashing
so badly that I am forced to uninstall my virus scanner in order to run
Outlook. The Error report states that Outlook needs to restart and an error
log has been created. I send the error log and it comes back with the
following link with more information:

Frankly the additional information is not very helpful. It statest that
this is a known conflict but does not point to any workaround and simply
fobbs the problem off on Macaffee which provide no information at all when I
search their website.

If anyone could provide a workaround I would appreciate it, McAffee
VirusScan v80i is rollout out to our entire company and continuing to use
Outlook 2003 is not an option as we can no longer get licenses.

Install McAfee without configuring it to scan incoming/outgoing email. Your
real time scanner will catch anything as long as your def files are
up-to-date.

I believe a license for Office 2007 legally allows you to use a prior
version instead. You should be able to continue to install Outlook 2003.

Sorry for the lateness of the reply. While it is possible to install Outlook
2003 with a 2007 license this really isn't the way we'd prefer to go forward,
but at least it's available as an option. I've also turned E-mail scanning
off during my most recent reinstall. Now I get the following error:

The Add-in "Exchange Scan" (C:\program files\network
associates\virusscan\scanmal.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by
Outlook. Please contact the Add-in manufacturer for an update. If no update
is available, please uninstall the Add-in.

This is not listed as one of the Add-ins when I go to remove it, do there's
nowhere to disable it, nor is it listed as a disabled add-in.... But.. at
least outlook is functional now.

Delete the file extend.dat in the (usually hidden) folder
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook for Windows
XP or %LocalApData%\Microsoft\Outlook on Vista
