Outlook 2007 missing body text

Help please

I have just set up Office 2007 and can send and receive email in Outlook.

The problem is that all message that I receive are missing the body of the
email.

I have the header and all attachments but no message as such.

I really hope that this is a small setting that i have have missed.

I carried out an Office diagnostic and all OK.

All advice really appreciated.

Operating system is XP Pro SP2.

Very likely this is caused by your virus scanner. If it integrates with
Outlook disable this integration and redownload the messages.

Many thanks for your input but disabling AVG [my only anti-virus] makes no
difference.

Disabling isn't the way; you have to disable its integration with Outlook.
See the documentation of your virus scanner on how to do that properly.

Also check your View settings, Encoding in the message. Change it and see if
that helps.

Try clearing your rules out of Outlook. There are switch commands you can find for this. I just ran into this issue and because we are on an Exhange Server the switch is /cleanserverrules. Your specific command might vary.

Close Outlook and reopen using these steps.

Start
Run
Type "outlook.exe /cleanserverrules
[enter]

Outlook should open and your emails should appear as normal from now on.
