Outlook 2007 moves to taskbar and is unusable when opened, why?

Often when I re-start Outlook 2007 on Vista x64, it fails to start and places
a "greyed out" icon in the notification area of the taskbar. I can no longer
use outlook 2007 until I restaret my entire system. Operating system is
Vista x64 Ultimate.
