Outlook 2007 not closing according to Task Manager

Sometime Outlook 2007 seems to not close.

I'll click on the MAIL but the highlighted email contents doesn't show on
the right -- as it is supposed to in the view that I have chosen --, which is
when I know Outlook didn't close the previous time I tried to close it. So I
close Outook and I open Task Manager, and sure enough Outlook is still open
in the Task Manager under Processes.

What's up with that?
