Dear all,
I've seen a few posts around on this, but nothing helpful.
We have outlook 2007 installed on Windows XP. It is resolving to the
exchange server when on the LAN and soesn't have an issue. However, take it
off the network, and connect with our VPN client, and it doesn't resolve in
Outlook. It does resolve the IP address when pinging or browseing to a
folder on that server, and the VPN is establishing the correct DNS/WINS
entries for ensuring resolution, but Outlook 2007 just says "disconnected".
I've even tried creating a new mail profile whilst connected via VPN,
entering the server name and user name and doing check name and it resolves
the name no issue, but launch Outlook and u see disconnected again.
I've tried amending the host file, but still same result.
All other Outlook clients using the VPN are having no issues, and I've
monitored traffic over our firewall during the VPN/Outlook operation and
there is no error messages. You can watch the client do the internal DNS
lookup, without error.
And here's the really odd part.... up to a week ago, this was working!!! It
happened suddenly on Monday morning. So I'm wondering if there are any
Office Updates that have affected the way outlook 2007 connects to
Exchange(??) long shot, but hey!
All help greatfully received....
