Outlook 2007 not responding

D

Dluzional

Using Outlook 2007, and like most keep the app open for mail checking.

Problem:
While outlook is open and running, about 2-3 times an hour, get the dreaded
"Outlook is not responding, check online for a solution and restart, or close"

When it reopens, it works for a bit, then seems to shut down again.

Info and addons:
Vista, 32 bit, Home, with all latest greatest updates and SP's
Outlook SP2 with all updates.
Lot's of hard drive space, 4 gigs ram, HP laptop.
Doesn't matter if AVG is running or not, currently disabled
Happens in Safe Mode also
Tried Windows Mail, and it did the same thing, so opted for Outlook 2007 to
use instead

Expected behaviour:
To run fairly seamlessly, as this seems to be something that happens and has
been happening for a couple of years.

Open Outlook using the /cleanviews switch:

Start > Run > outlook.exe /cleanviews

Also, disable any integration that your AV software has with Outlook. This
may entail uninstalling and reinstalling. If you're using a Symantec
programme, check their website for a utility to completely remove the
application cleanly so you can reinstall (omitting the integration with
Outlook of course).

While outlook seem to load faster, and check mail faster using the /cleanviews
it still crashed...although lasting almost 3 times as long.

This is taken from the "Details" drop down box within the error dialogue

Still ongoing, same error....
As you are aware assuming you can read, the ntdll.dll seems to be the culprit.
So saying that,
Is there an older working version of ntdll.dll that I can try?
is this version of ntdll.dll not compatible with Vista?

Appreciate any help with this:
using the /cleanviews option works as said previous, about 3 times longer
before crash.

Same Error Details, Same Event info, with only change being time of being open

Have you tried running a system file check? SFC /scannow from a command
prompt.

D

Ran the SFC /scannow
WRP found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them:
details in the CBS.log contained on the drive.

This log is HUGE, so if you tell me what i'm looking for (which you should
have done when you made the suggestion), then I can tell you what I'm seeing,
and you can then tell me how to fix them.

One would think that paying all this money for Office/outlook that it would
work, and that the "help desk" would at least provide a little more info as
to what the end user should be looking for when running something.

Would have saved both you and I a lot of time, if I was to know what to look
for and include it here..
As it is the file is way to big to post here, so if you need me to upload it
somewhere, tell me.
