I have a client’s PC running Outlook 2007. It is on the local LAN with the
SBS 2008 server. In send/receive Outlook never finishes downloading the
offline addressbook. It hangs on that forever, never producing an error.
(this is only occurs on this one PC) Since this user is local I decided the
best course of action would be to tell it don’t bother downloading an offline
address book. So I unchecked it from the send/receive group options…that
didn’t work. So I created a registry entry DownloadOAB = 0 telling it not to
download the address book…that didn’t work. I rebooted the PC…that didn’t
work. I deleted the OAB hidden files from the PC...that didn't work. It is
still trying to download the offline address book!
No error is ever thrown. Nothing in event viewer. The processing dialog just
stays on forever.
Where do I tell Outlook 2007 not to download the offline address book?
