Outlook 2007 - On send/rec popup appears: "Preparing to install ..

Since I installed Office 2007 an annoying pop-up has appeared. On
send/receive, at least when a message is being received, a box pops up that
say "Preparing to install ..."

It doesn't say what it's preparing to install, and canceling has no effect
other than to make it go away temporarily.

At the time, an item appears in the task bar: "Microsoft Office Outlook is
synchonizing folders."

This is on XP. I've installed the latest updates.

Can anyone make this stop???

Hello? Anyone there? This box pops up repeated on start up and interrupts
whatever work I happen to be doing. It's extremely annoying. Any help with be
appreciated.
